So, let's pretend that Ultear did die. Let's see how this goes!

Ultear blinked a couple of times. Where was she? She glanced down, expecting to see the dark grounds of hell. Instead, a white marble floor was there. She looked up, still expecting to see something hellish, but white pillars and blue sky decorated the background.

She got up and walked around. What was this place? It was so... heavenly. Then, it dawned upon her that she:

a. was not condemned to hell

b. didn't deserve to be here

c. was lost.

"Ultear! Over here!" A distant voice called her name. A tall figure was running toward her through the hazy sunlight.

"No... It can't be..." Ultear mumbled. Despite her protests, her knees buckled and she fell onto the marble floor. Her palms slammed onto the floor and her heart started beating rapidly. Then, she blacked out.

"Ultear! It's me!" Ultear woke up to someone cradling her.

"Ultear! No! Not again!" The voice turned from happiness to panic.

"Hm? Mother?" she whispered. She forced her eyes open and saw the familiar dark eyes of Ur.

Ur broke into a grin and forced her daughter onto her feet. She hugged Ultear. Hesitantly, Ultear hugged her back.

"You've grown so much! And you're so pretty now!" Ur remarked.

Unused to praise, Ultear looked away. She wanted her cloak to cover herself, to hide her sins.

"Thanks," she softly replied.

"So, what should we do first?" Ur happily asked. "It's been awhile since we had a mother-daughter day."

"Yeah..." Ultear faintly agreed. Her mind was wandering through the memories of her mother. Had she always been like this?

"What's wrong? I'm not what you expected?" the mother slightly teased.

"... I've always been told that you abandoned me. That you never loved me. That you wanted me to become stronger, but I was never strong enough... to go home. Unfortunately for you, I've always believed that," Ultear said.

Shocked and heartbroken, Ur froze. She didn't want this; she wanted her daughter, the one who was always energetic and happy.

"... But, I stopped believing after I fell into the ocean. You shared the memories, I forgave you and what happened," Ultear continued.

She stopped and shyly glanced at her mother. "I was, correction, I am a horrible daughter. I'm sorry for everything. Hurting Gray and Lyon, tormenting the world, everything." Ultear choked out the words before a waterfall of tears came pouring.

Ur smiled and embraced her daughter. "You're forgiven. Now, stop crying and tell me all about your life. I especially want to know about this Meredy."

"How do you know about Meredy?" Ultear asked. It wasn't as if she shared the memories of Meredy with her.

"When you tried to kill yourself, Meredy swam down and rescued you. After she saved you, I need to know about my daughter's friend. Speaking of friends, you better have a boyfriend by now. You're getting old, you need a companion," Ur remarked.

"Lovely. She's already in mother mode," Ultear murmured.

"I heard that! Now, tell me about your guild.. Smart girl, atoning your sins. I suspect that's the reason why you're up here."

"Thanks for the support, mom."

"Anytime, sweetie."
