For HadesGhostGirl because I threw an incredibly dark past at her. Not my past but a character in a role play.
Draco brushes past Harry in the hallways, sneering at him as he does so. "Honestly Potter, you smell like you're in middle school. You should get some new cologne."
Harry glares at the back of his head as the blonde walks away. "Maybe I will."
The next time they had a Hogsmead weekend Harry bought a new bottle of cologne. It smelled like an ocean breeze.
Draco passes by him in the halls the next day. The blonde freezes, spins around and says, "That's worse! What, did you steal that cologne from Weasel? Gross!"
Harry watches, flustered by the amount of people gaping at him. He continues on to Divination, ears tinted pink. He's already devising a foolproof plan as he walks.
That night he sneaks into the Potions Class, armed with his wand, the map, and his invisibility cloak. He snatches a small bottle from a shelf and leaves quickly.
The next morning when everyone's left for breakfast he uncaps the phial. He's greeted with a familiar smell and smiles. Foolproof.
Quickly applying the potion to himself he heads to class, skipping lunch. Potions with Slytherins. The Professor was sure to make him Malfoy's partner.
He was getting murmured compliments all around, asking what cologne he used. He smiled. Foolproof.
Spotting a familiar head of blonde he pushes through the crowd. "Malfoy."
"Potter."
Harry smirks. "How do I smell today?"
Draco raises an eyebrow at him. "No different than usual."
Harry's jaw drops. This wasn't possible, it was foolproof!
"Are you sure?"
"Honestly Potter, what's gotten into you?"
Harry's ears turn pink. It actually failed. He thought Amortentia was supposed to smell like a person's deepest desires. Like whatever they-
His mind froze. It didn't fail. It wasn't possible.
But that meant...
"Malfoy."
"Potter."
Harry smiles. He leans up towards Draco's ear. "I'm wearing Amortentia." He smirks as he pulls back, spotting the confused flush of Draco's cheeks. "You, me, Hogsmead? If I remember correctly we have a weekend coming up."
"Deal."
