Sherry searched around the crowded airport terminal with her suitcase rolling behind her and a bag slung over her shoulder. Her flight had been delayed by almost four hours. He probably wasn't even there anymore. She sighed, about to resign herself to getting a cab when her eyes fell on a red-headed man sprawled across nearly three seats on the other side of baggage claim, with a book over his face, clearly taking the opportunity to catch a nap. Sherry giggled and her eyes glittered as her mouth drew into a wide toothy grin. Walking towards him, she felt herself being tempted to sneak a peak at his sleeping face… just a small one. What was the harm? Reaching him, she bent forward and gently lifted the book of crosswords from his face. There he was, completely handsome and defenseless for once. Slowly he stirred, opening his eyes. He spotted Sherry and immediately straightened up.

"I made it, finally." she said.

He nodded groggily, getting to his feet. Shoving the crossword book in his back pocket, he took Sherry's bags out of her hands and began to carry them as they walked towards the terminal exit.

"How was the flight, super girl? Did you have to take out your cape for the landing?" he jested with a grin of his own.

"It was fine," her smile faded just a little. "I missed you, Jake."

Jake looked over at her quietly, before looking back at the path in front of him and frowning.

"I missed you too," he mumbled.
