Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry Ancient Runes Assignment #4 - Write about Draco Malfoy.
Ship Til You Drop Competition - Draco/Gabrielle
It was when the wedding march started playing that his heart started pounding against his chest. It was his big day- the big day. His wedding. All throughout his adolescence, he thought that the event would cause him a permanent burden. He had never been so wrong in his life. He couldn't be happier as his friends, family, and even the Weasleys walked down the aisle before him, wearing grand clothing and big grins adorning their lips. It was a relief that his mother and father didn't have any complaint against his choice of bride. Normally, his father would have sneered at the mere relation to the Weasleys- but after the war, Lucius seemed to have had a change of heart. Narcissa had always been supportive and was happy to acknowledge that his bride was pureblood and wealthy.
Draco was a lucky guy to have met such a girl, a girl that leveled his parents' standards. A girl that he loved with all of his heart.
The music settled into a low hum as the bride appeared at the other end of the aisle. His bride wore a beautiful gown made of the finest satin, with intricate-patterned lace covering her arms. The bodice of her wedding dress was shimmering with a copious amount of glitter and pearl. Her veil covered her face, but Draco could see her lovely smile shining beneath it. His bride simply looked gorgeous.
Time slowed down as the bride took each careful step towards him and Draco wanted nothing more to fast-forward the wedding and have her as his bride. His. Soon enough, she did reach his end of the aisle and the ceremony began. Draco barely listened as he was distracted by his own bride. She was the epitome of beautiful. By the time he vows were said, Draco was in a dazed state. His senses jumped to life as he was asked the crucial question.
"Do you, Draco Lucius Malfoy, take Gabrielle Delacour as your lawfully wedded wife?"
Gabrielle was his saving grace. After the war, the Malfoys were a wreck. Their household was destroyed and the family barely talked to each other. His mother stopped eating as his father was carted away to Azkaban. Draco was broken until this girl waltzed into his life. Gabrielle made him forget; With her, Draco felt life seep through his veins, slowly making him alive again.
"I do." There, he finally said it. He was rightfully hers!
"Do you, Gabrielle Delacour, take Draco Lucius Malfoy as your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do." Gabrielle smiled and nodded enthusiastically, and Draco swore- he could melt right at the moment.
"You may kiss the bride!"
Draco slowly lifted the lace veil, revealing the beautiful face of his wife. His blue-grey eyes clapped with her deep blue ones and Draco could say he was absolutely whipped. He slowly leaned in, an unstoppable grin settling on his lips as Gabrielle leaned in as well, letting their lips touch. It was then that Draco knew he could finally be happy.
