Pairing: Byakuya x Renji...for now.
Disclaimer: I wish I own Bleach and Kubosensei but it's the one that owns me!
Kuchiki Byakuya was staring at the mirror. He hates mornings the most. Morning meant having to deal with his kenseikan. The sixth division captain didn't want to wear that hairpiece but it comes with the whole royal family package he was born into. The scarf wasn't a big deal. It was easy because a little flinging over the shoulders would do. But the kenseikan was a pain. Before, it was the servants who did the job of putting it on him every morning. When Hisana came, she took over the task. Hisana's soft hands gently stroking Byakuya's hair was like a glimpse of heaven for him. After Hisana's death, no one could ever touch his hair again. He doesn't ask his servants to put it on for him. When he adopted Rukia, he didn't ask Rukia to do it. Well, he didn't bother showing any emotions to Rukia so asking her to do the task her sister once did was out of the question. He felt that he will be betraying Hisana when someone else strokes his hair.
Byakuya sighed. He always spend an hour to put on his kenseikan. He wakes up early to put it on. He fumbles with it for the first time and fails miserably. He should've been used to this by now but he still messes up.
After several attempts, when he has finally able to fasten it, a knock came upon his door and broke his concentration. Byakuya frowned and shouted, "Who are you?"
"Kuchiki-taichou, I have orders for you from Yamamoto-taichou." It was his vice captain, Abarai Renji.
"I will deal with it later. I have some matters that I have to attend to." Byakuya replied. He wouldn't open the door. The death gods rarely see him without his kenseikan. He didn't want to start it now. Starting to fasten the kenseikan again, Renji knocked on the door, louder than the first one.
"I am sorry but this is an urgent message from the first division captain. I was told to deliver it to you immediately." Renji said, persuasively.
"He has to wait." Byakuya continued fixing his hair and is annoyed that his vice-captain wouldn't leave him alone.
Renji continued pounding on the door. Byakuya just pretended not to hear anything and concentrated on his hair. Suddenly, Byakuya heard a crash and the kenseikan fell loose again. He spun around and saw his vice captain had managed to break in and destroy the door.
