John Sheppard groaned as he lifted his head off of his pillow. Instantly he was overcome by a feeling of sickness in his stomach and his head throbbed. Very slowly, he inched himself out of bed, knowing that he had to report for duty, yet wanting very much to sleep for another day.

He stumbled around his room, trying and failing to ignore his pounding headache. He walked haphazardly out of his quarters and up to the control tower where he met up with Rodney, Teyla and Ronon. Both Ronon and Rodney looked as though they were suffering the same nausea and headache that John was. Teyla looked at the three men and gave a faint smile. At that moment Elizabeth walked in and beckoned them all to the briefing room. She then turned away too quickly to catch the three fortifying themselves for walking.

They all sat down carefully and Elizabeth began the briefing. Halfway through, she noticed that Teyla was sitting upright, as usual, yet John, Rodney and Ronon all appeared to be nursing their heads.

"Okay, what happened to the three of you? Why are you all holding your heads, and why is Teyla perfectly fine?" She stopped the briefing because something was seriously wrong with her people.

"I'd like to know the answer to that question myself, Doctor Weir." Ronon spoke softly to not exert himself, worsening the pain.

"John, can you explain this?" Elizabeth turned in the direction of the team's leader.

"We're hung over, ma'am." He replied simply.

"Hung over? There is no alcohol anywhere in Atlantis; I made sure I poured Cavanaugh's rum into the ocean." She argued back.

"It's not alcohol." Rodney declared. Elizabeth was surprised that he hadn't been whining like a baby ever since he had gotten up that morning.

"Well, if you didn't have alcohol, then what did you have?" She was trying to get to the bottom of the situation and the men were being less than forthcoming.

"We had pomegranate juice." Ronon declared, wincing.

"Pomegranate juice?" Elizabeth repeated, thoroughly confused.

"Yes ma'am. The latest shipment of supplies from the Daedalus had a gallon of the stuff. No one knew why and no one had ever tried it before, so I volunteered my team to test it." John said and placed his forehead on the cold surface of the briefing room table.

"Did you drink this pomegranate juice too, Teyla?" Doctor Weir was still curious as to why the three men could barely move and Teyla was perfectly fine.

"Yes I did, Doctor Weir." Teyla replied proudly

"She drank more than the three of us put together, ma'am." Ronon declared as he imitated John's position

"Okay, I can understand why Rodney would be hung over, but John, you went through college and Ronon has probably had some of the strongest alien moonshine that ever existed, so why is Teyla unaffected?"

"Doctor Weir. This pomegranate juice delivers a strong shock of flavor, but it is milder than the Genii celebratory wine, and Athosian tea, on which I was raised. I believe that the men simply got carried away and did not know their stopping point." Teyla replied diplomatically and looked fondly at the three men who sat face down at the table.

"You are all dismissed. Take care of your hangovers. Next time, either don't drink it, or stop before this happens again." Teyla laughed inwardly at the absurdity of the order.

"Yes ma'am." The men mumbled in unison and Elizabeth walked out of the room, followed by Teyla, who smiled over the men.

A/N: Ask my friends, you really can get a hangover from pomegranate juice. I wouldn't know, I was in Teyla's position.
