Alphonse stared at the chart sitting on the door of the room he was supposed to be in. That secretary really liked to make him feel awkward, didn't she? He sighed, and walked into the female patient's room. The state alchemist with five broken ribs and severe blood loss was sitting up, and inspecting her surroundings.
"Miss Raya, You'll ruin your ribs that way, lay down!" She glared at him from under her bangs, "I'm sorry, who are you?" Al brushed his own bangs out of his eyes, "Alphonse Elric." She looked like she was thinking, so he checked the I.V. "If you're who I think you are, you're only eighteen. How the crap did you pass the doctor's exam?"
The brown haired boy turned to face her. "Practice. Now lay down." She smiled evilly.
"Make me."
Three hours later, and more surgery, Raya was lying down again. She sighed, getting Alphonse Elric of all people mad at her. Where was her common sense? She sighed; running was one of her more stupid ideas. She tried to ignore the dull throbbing radiating from her ribs.
Al was probably still mad at the dark haired girl anyway. She closed her eyes, and listened to her own heartbeat.
Al poked his head into Raya's room to make sure she was all right. Seriously, the alchemist had several broken ribs and was still able to run like that? The girl was probably insane.
She was sleeping, and appeared peaceful. He shook his head; at least she wasn't walking around. The brown-haired doctor quietly shut the door, and continued on his way to look after more patients.
A few months and mishaps later, Raya was finally released from the hospital. Roy had decided to make sure she got away all right. Namely, no breaking more bones on her way home. She was one of the more clumsy alchemists.
He had knocked before entering the room, but hadn't waited for a response. Raya was making out with Alphonse, of all people, who was blushing severely. Roy turned around and waited for Raya to come out. He had some new dirt to dish out.
Al pulled away first, "I think that was Colonel Mustang." Raya held his hands, and traced the veins with her thumb. She looked up at him.
"And? I fail to see how that's important right now." He sighed, and tugged her into a hug. "We could both get fired, you know." Raya wrapped her arms around the taller boy's waist.
"I'll go talk to him, all right? I don't think they'd fire you. You're too awesome." She smiled and stuck her tongue out. He tweaked her nose, and she trotted off to go see if it was actually Roy.
"When did you get a boyfriend, Ice Queen?" She twitched at the play on her title. "A month ago, why?" She looked at her commanding officer's face to see he was smirking. She made a face.
"Oh, God, what now?" The black-haired Colonel held up a camera, omnipotent smirk still in place.
"Oh no, you didn't." He continued grinning.
"Oh, no. There's no freaking way. Nuh-uh." He was practically breaking his cheekbones smiling so hard at her. Raya punched him, hard, without regard for the consequences of assaulting a senior officer.
Besides being very fired, Raya was not allowed to randomly distract Al during work hours. Mostly enforced by Al, who had to work.
