An Anniversary of Proportions

Doflamingo was currently sitting at a bar, thinking to himself. Lucille had dared to curse at him! The mighty Doflamingo, who was the captain of the Don Quixote pirates, king of Dressrosa, and a no- former world noble. She was completely hard-headed. It was harsh work loving her, the female; let it be the ONLY person who knew how to make him back away. Because she had a kick that scared the ever loving hell out of him. He needed to figure out why she was so mad. The girl had said that today was special, and that is was once a- ANNIVERSARY. He face planted the bar in annoyance. 'Damn it, I forgot…'the male grit his teeth, standing up. Walking out of the alcoholic scented building, he sauntered to a flower shop. The people who saw him immediately backed away, in what seemed like fear. Even if it was, he still smirked, because hey. People are afraid of him. That is just awesome. Said man looked over each flower, eyebrows furrowed. He just couldn't pick, they all looked splendid, and he sure as hell wouldn't buy them all. "Hey, you." Doquixote pointed at an elderly female. She looked up. "Yes, sunny?" He sighed. "What are the best flowers to give a girl?" A smile filled the wise face. "Many, son. What kind of flowers?" He was puzzled. "What the hell do you mean; I just want some damn flowers!" "What do you want the flowers to mean?" She tries again. He gripped the stand of roses. "I don't know…she's beautiful…Lucy's always so happy…she's….magnificent, so…lovely…." Hearts bloomed above him, as the older lady gave him a knowing look. "I understand. You would like to give…" Her pruned hands reached out, grasping a lilac vase, with small stars decorating the handle. She picked an amaryllis, along with a bouvardia double, calla lily, gardenia, and she threw in an Aster. "They each have their own meaning, and you must figure them out." His eyes rolled. 'I'm not a sissy.' "That will be one hundred and seventy three Beli, son." Grumbling, he doubtfully handed the money, grabbing the flowers. His eyes scanned each one, trying to figure out a meaning. But, he got zilch. Doflamingo half ran, half waddled back to his ship, knocking on his quarters. "S-stay out!" A voice cried back. He huffed angrily and forced the door open, slamming it. Lucy looked up, eyes wide. "Why are you back?" "Wait; don't throw me out of my own ship. These are for you, it's our anniversary, and I'm gonna tell you what each one means." The man inhaled. "You're beautiful. So beautiful, that I got an amaryllis. You're always so enthusiastic, and optimistic, so I also got an um….Bouvardia double. I think you're magnificent, and so…lovely….so I finished the bouquet with a calla lily, and a gardenia. L-Lucille, I'm sorry I forgot about our anniversary…please forgive me…" His bronze cheeks were dark red, as he hugged her tightly. Lucy smiled widely, eyes still shining with tears. "D-Doflamingo…that was wonderful…" He smiled and handed her the vase. She set it down on the bedside table, kissing him. The ecstatic man lifted her up, holding her around the waist as the sunset slowly died out, night in its wake. I guess you can say this was an anniversary of beautiful proportions.
