Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Henry and the Elephant" from Season 4, with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.

Thomas the Tank Engine puffed happily along his branch line with Annie and Clarabel.

Sir Topham Hatt was waiting for him at the station. He looked at his watch.

"Well done Thomas! Right on time and really reliable!"

"Thank you sir!" puffed Thomas.

"Right on time and really reliable is what we like to hear!" hummed the coaches.

Meanwhile, the big engines were not feeling cheerful at all!

"Where's Percy!" mumbled Henry. "He's supposed to fetch our coaches!"

"We get no rest!" grumbled James. He rolled crossly onto the turntable, and spoke rudely to Henry.

"What's the matter Henry? There's no rain today! Stop worrying and do some work!"

"I'm not afraid of getting wet anymore!" huffed Henry. "Anyway, you look like a clown. You should join the circus!"

"So you've heard the news?" whistled Percy as he puffed in.

"What news?" mumbled Gordon.

"About the circus!"

"What are you talking about?!" snorted James.

"The circus has arrived!" explained Percy. "I've been shunting special cars, and Sir Topham Hatt needs your help too!"

The engines soon forgot to be cross, and were excited to help with the circus.

But when it was time for the circus to leave, the engines became cross all over again. Sir Topham Hatt watched as James pulled the circus train away.

Then later, he came to see Henry.

"Come along Henry! A tunnel is blocked down the line, and you must take some workmen to investigate!"

"Pushing cars is not what I like!" grumbled Henry.

They stopped outside the tunnel, and the workmen went inside. It was very dark and quiet, but not for long!

The workmen ran out screaming! An elephant was inside the tunnel!

"There's a elephant inside the tunnel!" complained the workmen.

"Rubbish!" said the foreman. "There's no elephant in there!"

"But there is!"

So the foreman went in, and ran out screaming as well!"

"So there is a elephant in there after all. Henry will have to pull it out.

This made Henry very cross. He remembered the time he was bricked in the tunnel, but this was worse! Something big and alive was in there!

"I don't want to go in!" whined Henry.

"We must clear the line, otherwise Sir Topham Hatt will be cross!" said the driver.

"Oh dear, oh dear!" cried Henry as he entered the tunnel.

Then there was trouble. As soon as Henry entered the tunnel, he was pulled back out again, with the elephant following right behind him!

Everyone clapped and cheered, and the workmen gave the elephant some peanuts, and three buckets of water to drink. He drank two buckets, and was about to drink the third, when Henry let off steam, causing the elephant to spray water all over Henry. Poor Henry!
Soon, the elephant and his keeper were reunited, but Henry was still upset.

"I hate elephants!" he moaned.

That night, he told the other engines all about what happened. Gordon and James felt sorry for Henry, but still teased him.

"What will you be afraid of next?" teased Gordon.

"Never mind!" said Thomas. "I think you were brave and reliable today!"

Henry smiled with pride!
