This is honestly a really random Kingdom Hearts drabble I came up with at about 1:15 am. It's quite obviously Akuroku, and maybe a little bit...okay, maybe a lot sappy, and probally not exactly canon, but still. I like it.

Disclaimer: No, I do not own Kingdom Hearts in any way, shape, or form. Sadly, that includes merchandise.

Fire

Roxas was empty. It wasn't just the absence of a heart, although that did have something to do with it. It wasn't just the absence of his memories, though that also had something to do with it. It was being surrounded by the whiteness of the Castle That Never Was, and seeing only the black coats and hooded figures of the rest of Organization XIII as Xemnas led him inside. It was the absence of feeling.

Everything was the same here. That was all Roxas had processed in the short time since he had entered the place. Xemmas' introductions seemed like they were taking place in another room. Roxas just couldn't feel them. He couldn't feel anything.

And then He came. He was loud, and slightly obnoxious, and interfered with Roxas' antipathy. Roxas ignored Him at first, but nothing could stop Him once He set his mind on something. And slowly, He began to get through. His fire began to warm Roxas' soul, and take the place of the things Roxas was missing.

And before long, Roxas didn't need a heart, because His fire burned in place of it. And Roxas didn't need his memories, because His fire was the only thing he needed to remember. And Roxas wasn't empty anymore, because Axel, and Axel's fire, burned inside his soul.
