It was a normal evening at the Loud backyard: With what should be a quiet, calm atmosphere being ruined by the incessant noise coming from the inside of the house. Naturally, Lynn Loud, the most athletic of the Loud siblings, was outside, practicing some archery.

And by practicing, I meant constantly failing to hit a single bullseye on a tree, which was surrounded by arrows laying on the ground. Either Lynn was having an off day, or the noise from within the house was affecting her ability. Probably the former.

"Okay, last arrow, no more recharging, final shot," Lynn stated as she grabbed the last arrow on her side. "I need to make sure this last shot counts!"

"Hi Lynn!"

The athlete turned around and saw her roller derby mate, Polly Pain, standing over the fence, luckily between two sharp ends of it. "Polly? What are you doing here?" Lynn inquired, raising an eyebrow.

"What? Can't your friendly roller derby mate Polly Pain come visit to check up on you?" Polly answered, her tone growing bitter as she added, "Specially when you never visit me?" then she frowned. "Even after I sent you a couple messages?"

Lynn checked her phone, and after nonchalantly dealing with Polly's missing messages, she explained: "Listen, Polly, I'm sorry I didn't visit you, but when you got a tight schedule such as mine, you simply have to focus on the most important things: For example, I gotta get ready to try and join the archery club past tomorrow."

"Didn't that club reject you last year because of your awful marksmanship?" Polly pointed out, causing the athlete to look away and growl. "Not to mention your status as a sore loser?"

"The sore loser status is overblown, I can deal with defeat as long as it isn't anything too important," the jock hastily explained. "And my marksmanship has improved since last time."

Polly turned to the pile of arrows on the ground, and promptly pulled some sass. "Yeah, you've really improved since then."

"It's the noise inside my house that's disorienting me, that's all!" Lynn growled.

Polly wasn't finished sassing her friend. "Yeah, that's totally the reason."

"Whatever, I'm totally going to shut you up when I hit the bullseye with this last shot," Polly laughed out loud. "What now!?"

"I'm sorry, Lynn, but I can't see you managing to get a bullseye, with one last arrow, after you failed after so many shots!" the roller skater scoffed.

Naturally, this got Lynn angry. "Are you doubting my athletic ability!?"

"I'm doubting the fact you can back up your claim," Polly sternly frowned. "Just quit it and take it a rest: You didn't get it today, that's bad, but if you exhaust yourself overdoing it, that's gonna be even worse."

Lynn narrowed her eyes and prepared to shoot. "Just watch me."

She shot the arrow... And it bounced off the tree and onto the top floor window, where not only was a cat heard, but Luna and Luan yelled "Lynn!" at the top of their lungs, with notable hostility.

"Lynn, I think you should run," Polly remarked.

"You and me both, dude," Lynn said.

The tomboys exchanged looks, then ran away as fast as they could as Luna and Luan burst through the door and chased after them.
