Alice was a successful trader for her father's company, Kingsley Imported, when she came home to visit her dear sister Margaret, and her ailling and Alice were on a walk, contemplaiting what they were to do if their mother died from the sudden illness that she was suffering from. If she were to die, Alice would be the new full owner of Kingsley Imported, one of the most prostegious trading companies in the world. This would mean that Alice would probally never marry, becoming a disgrace and a burden to the family. Margaret was becoming impatient, and very angry.

"Alice! what do you mean 'I suppose that I will never get married ' ? You must!"

" And who says this! the same people who insist that you must not divorce that lying, cheating, Lowell!"

"Alice! how dare you say such a thing! Lowell has been perfectly good to me! "

"He has not! He's cheated on you on multiple occasions! Only a fool wouldn't know it!"

"Alice! How dare you!"

Precisly at that moment Mrs. Kingsley comes into the garden, and an erie silence passes over the area. Alice is the only one brave enough to break this silence.

"Mother... you should be in bed."

"You, young lady, outght to be married by 're nearly twenty-five, Alice, you must marry soon."

" But Mother...who? I have not had a single gentleman caller since Hamish!"

"I have found you a groom. He will arrive on Wednesday, and you will marry on Sunday. That is my word, and it is final."

Alice simply looked at her Mother in shock and horror as she processed these overwhelming she found her feet again, she began so fast in fact, she didn't realise that she was falling.
