Dedicated to my friend, Tatiana.

Close as Twins.

"I'm so exited!" Bly whispered, her words forming white against the cold winter day. Eira nodded, smiled. Then they stepped up, white shoes on white marble, to enter Ouran High School. The change of their lives.

Gloved hands gently pushed the door, where the legendary host club stood.

"Welcome," they all said, but they knew that it was them that had a spark in their eyes, that wanted to play. And play, they did.

They sat around the table, Hikaru, Kaoru, Bly and Eira. She was listening, looking, observing, and it was him that caught her. She only smiled, drank some tea, and went back to what she was doing before. Bly didn't notice.

She was leaning on a column, once snow white, now tinted yellow with age and use. He was standing there uselessly, nervously, muttering. She clasped her hands.

"I-I like you, Eira. I was hoping…" Kaoru cut himself off. He could tell only so much by her downcast eyes, her absolutely motionless hands. It was hopeless.

They were walking off into the sunset. Everyone knew they would. Bly and Hikaru. They seemed as if made for each other. No one noticed Eira, though. Not her silence, which radiated absolutely nothing, nor her mask which was so carefully crafted to be loving and happy. No one noticed the wisps of dreams that surrounded her, broken, lost.

And in the end, they were still close as twins. Then again, twins weren't very close at all.
