Would you dance if I asked you to dance?
Would you run and never look back?
Would you cry if you saw me cryin'?
And would you save my soul tonight?

George watched as Alanna carefully placed a bouquet of lilacs on the grave in front of her. He could tell that she was hurting, but she wouldn't admit it. A small tear glistened on her cheek for a moment before she wiped it off. She thought no one had seen. But George had.

Would you tremble if I touched your lips?
Would you laugh?
Oh please tell me this
Now would you die for the one you loved?
Hold me in your arms tonight

Alanna walked back toward her friend and lover. She walked calmly, without shedding a tear, for the first few steps. Then she broke into a run, throwing herself into George's arms.

I can be your hero, baby
I can kiss away the pain
I will stand by you forever
Y
ou can take my breath away

George held Alanna tight, firmly grasping her head to his chest. As she cried, George patted her softly on the back, making comforting sounds as she cried.

"He was too young to die!" she sobbed, beating her small fists against George's firm chest. He continued to hold her, rocking back and forth slowly.

Would you swear that you'll always be mine?
Or would you lie?
Would you run and hide?
Am I in too deep?
Have I lost my mind?
I don't care, you're here tonight

"I hope you know that you don't need to be afraid to let me know when you are hurting. I love you, Alanna," whispered George, pulling her face back to look into her lovely purple eyes, framed by a thick mane of red hair. Alanna nodded, and George could have sworn that he heard her whisper, "I love you too."

I can be your hero, baby
I can kiss away the pain
I will stand by you forever
You can take my breath away
George slowly and sweetly kissed her, feeling her special taste sweep through him. She smiled back at him, with old tears glistening on her face.

Oh, I just want to hold you
I just want to hold you, oh yeah
Am I in too deep?
Have I lost my mind?
Well, I don't care, you're here tonight

George looked at the girl he had fallen in love with, so long ago. He must be crazy, to love someone so much.

I can be your hero, baby
I can kiss away the pain
I will stand by you forever
You can take my breath away

George took Alanna hand and danced slowly through the cemetery. Alanna held on tightly to her love. George stayed there, never moving out of step with Alanna, never trying to take to much charge. They were a perfect couple for dancing.

I can be your hero, baby
I can kiss away the pain
And I will stand by you forever
You can take my breath away
You can take my breath away

George took Alanna's hand and slowly led her out of the cemetery and into the green fields beyond.

I can be your hero
