She feels horrible. She hates herself everytime she looks in Justin's eyes and realizes that he has absolutely no clue. That in his eyes is only love. Love for her. And she betrays him. From day to day.
First it was this one kiss that haunted her. This kiss, Griffin had given her in the school hall. That one kiss that proved that she had feelings for him. She tried to ignore it, she tried to fight it. But in the end she always comes back to Grifin. He was her drug. The one thing she could not say no to.
"Jules", Justin's voice brings her back to reality. To him.
"Sorry, I was just", she does not finish the sentence. What should she say? I am dreaming of another guy? Probably not.
"Want to go out tonight? It's Friday." He smiles.
The horrible feeling was back when she answers: "Sorry. I am Owen's babysitter tonight."
"I can help you."
"No, no. Enjoy your friday evening. We can do something tomorrow, ok?"
Justins nods but Julia could see in his eyes that he was disappointed.
"Hey, come on, we have the whole weekend."
He nods again and leans over to kiss her.
"I love you."
She does not answer. Just gives him another kiss. She could not answer. Sure she loves him in a way. But she also has feelings for Griffin. She was confused and tired of lying to the one person that had been there for her her whole life. Justin was the one thing in life she never wanted to lose and she knows that with all this she would lose him in the end.
"I have to go", she says after they break up the kiss. "See you on Satuday?"
"Yeah, see you on Saturday."
She leans over for a last kiss and leaves the coffee shop. She crosses the street, walks a bit until she gets to the next crossing. Griffin was already there. Standing in front of his motorcycle, looking at her as she walks towards him.
"Sorry, I'm late."
He just shrugs. Justin would never do this, thinks Julia. He cares for when she arrives at dates. He cares for what she was doing and thinking. He was so not like Griffin. But when Griffin takes her hand to pull her closer Justin was gone. Not longer in her head or his heart. She was an addict that just need that one drug: Griffin.
