I stared lovingly at the back of Sasuke's head, seeing his chest fall. He was sighing. He turned to me and opened his mouth, "Listen, Yuuki, what happened--"
"Don't apologize." I smiled, intertwining our fingers and lifting his hand to my mouth, kissing his hand lightly.
"I--It's just that I never knew..."
"Neither did I." I raised an eyebrow. "There's nothing wrong with it...I love the way you stood up for yourself. It means you're proud of who you are."
"Yuuki...I l--"
Sasuke was cut off by a loud shriek, and he spun to the source of the sound. "What was that?"
"I--I don't know! It sounded like--"
"Sasuke!" yelled the same voice. Sasuke barely had time to open his arms before a flash of pink pressed itself against his chest. Sakura again. She was crying.
"What's wrong, Sakura?"
"It's the Hokage! She's been attacked!"
I stiffened and looked between the two, feeling my legs take their own course. I bolted in the direction of the Hokage's building, ignoring Sasuke's orders to stay behind.
