Author's Note:

Okay, this is my second poem attempt…I keep trying, but I still can't seem to get it quite right. It seems like the individual words have a lot of feeling, but the thing as a whole doesn't come off quite right. Anyway, I've been holding on to this for a while, and finally decided to share – maybe one of these days I'll get something that I'm really happy with. At least you'll be able to follow my improvement, LOL!

This is an angsty poem from Leonardo's point of view, a reflection of his feelings toward Raphael.

FRAGILE

You look hard at me
I feel it burning
You're waiting for day
That I fall from my pedestal

Difficult by design
Duress from broken trust
You don't want to need me
You keep your secrets safe within you

Always taking me to the edge
Then you chase me away
Shut me out
And we're both empty again

I'm losing sensation
And you're on fire
I'm blinded by the outside
While you're lost on the inside

What do I do
When all the words are gone
The bond is so fragile
I feel it breaking in my hands

Stuck in world
That doesn't exist
All I can do is tell you
That you're not alone

I want to kill your pain
Strip you down
Take all of your hurt
And anger away

Because as hard as you strike
And knock me to my knees
I won't ever let go
I won't do without you

When you push too far
I'll drag you back from the brink
When the world spins beneath you
I'll hold you up

Whatever darkness consumes you
And steals away your soul
Nothing can erase
The one thing that always remains

Never forget brother
That I would dive deep
Fall all the way
And give my breath for you
