Chapter 1

"If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome."

Joey

Light shined blissfully through the window as the birds sang out. I was a Staff Sergeant of an Elektron Defence Squad (EDS #35). As being an average dart monkey, I had a pale face with light-brownish fur. My eyes are a electric blue, and my mouth is a little on the large side. Hey, wide mouths fit more food. I was luxuriously relaxing in the sun when the first alarm rang out.

"STAND IN POSITION, A RUSH OF GREEN BLOONS IS COMING TOWARDS ELEKTRON!" The officer cried out.

"Crap! I left my bag inside! Jane, wait here!" Joey spat, "Those worthless crapsacks will be sorry they attacked Elecktron!"

I smashed through the door and scurried around, trying to find my darts, "Ah! There it is!" I murmured. Just then, a scream rang across the flagstones, staining his ears.

"JANE!" I screamed, scrabbling to the door. The door slammed wide open to the colorless eyes of the regrower green bloons.

"Regrowers? But how did they get past the spike factories?" I finally noticed Jane, limp on a clothesline 10 meters up with a rubber film surrounding her, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" he screamed. That was the day Elektron fell, the main producer of training compounds and gear. Our forces took a significant loss, but we could still make a comeback. Hail the New Order!
