Okay, I'm new and I just finished reading the "Shiver" series. Don't be pissed off if I suck at this.

Prologue

Winter. Amy Roth had been waiting for this for a year. It was the time when she saw her family, they were wolves. They stopped shifting about three years ago, when Amy was ten. She had learned to live on her own; without parents or a guardian. Usually it was lonely in that dusty cabin, without electricity. It was often very cold as well.

Amy picked up her old, matted broom off the wood floor. She hated cleaning; it was a sin to her. What was the point, making it all clean and pretty, then dirtying it right back to as it was? She shook her head, attempting to rid the dust from her eyes, but failing. Amy brushed back and forth using a rhythmic pattern. Rhythm, she thought. So beautiful. While in her train of thought, she dropped the broom yet again, it falling on her foot. "Shit," she swore under her breath. "Forget this. It's boring." Amy walked outside and sat on the also very dusty bench. It was about thirty-three degrees, about the temperature for shifting. Amy took her big, puffy coat off and sat back down. "Please shift!" she hollered out loud.

Suddenly, she found what she was looking for. "RAAAAAHH!" Amy screamed in agony as her spine cracked and morphed into wolf-like form. She ripped open her skin to reveal black and gray fur, wet from being captured in human form for so long. Amy shook her pelt, than burst into the woods.
