"Jace!" Rose Herondale screamed as she plunged the seraph blade into the demon's chest. She dodged the black blood that poured out and ran over to Jace. She dropped to her knees beside him. "Let me give you iratze,"She pulled out her stele, but Jace had already got up from the floor of the abandoned church that they had been walking by when her Sensor went off. She sighed and followed him out. Rose and Jace and found out they were siblings over a year ago and he'd been the first to accept it, but he never showed weakness, even around Rose.

They walked out into the cold New York air and the wind picked up her blond curls, sending them flying around. Anyone who looked at the two could tell that they were related. They had the same pale blond hair and gold eye. It was Maryse that had found out of her existence where she had lived in Idris. Valentine had forced Celine and Stephen to give her up to the Silent Brothers after the experiment with Jace was a success. The Silent Brothers then sent her to live and train at the local Institute.

Silently they began walking back to the Institute, but something popped into Rose's mind, "Is Clay coming to train today?" Clary had also accepted that Jace had a sister rather quickly.

Jace nodded and he got the look on his face that told Rose that he truly loved Clary, "She was hoping to get in some training hours with you."

Rose nodded and followed him into the big doors of the Institute. She walked down the corridor to the left while Jace walked to the right, her eyes followed him as he walked and it pained her to see that he was limping. She shook her head and instead of going to her room, she went to Isabelle's.

"Izzy?" She asked lightly as she knocked on the door. Isabelle was always weird about who came into her room. It made Rose wonder, and then wish she hadn't wondered, what she did in there.

Isabelle emerged wearing a black and red, tight, short dress with beads all along the top and bottom. She had on knee high boots with fishnet stockings. Where on earth could she be going? "What do you need?"

Rose opened her mouth to find the words that she knew she needed to say, but she failed and ended up bursting out in tears instead. Izzy quickly took her in her arms and closed the door behind them. Rose felt as if her heart had crumbled into small pieces in her chest.

She looked up through tears at Isabelle and tried to speak again. This time she managed to speak, "Izzy, I think I'm in love with Aiden."

Isabelle's mouth dropped open and for good reason. Aiden was the newest addition to the New York Institute. He was also the most skilled in weapon fighting and hand-to-hand. With dark hair that fell into his almost black eyes, he was sarcastic but lovable at the same time.

He and Rose fought constantly about the silliest things, but she couldn't help but feel a tug at her heartstrings when she heard his name. Jace would murder her if he found out, so that's why she came to Isabelle.

"Rose, you know there's something wrong with him. Something evil." Isabelle tried to talk some sense into her, but nothing seemed to penetrate her think skull, yet another thing she and Jace had in common.

Rose spent so many days training with and looking at Aiden and he looked at her as well, but did he ever see what she wished he would? She had beaten him bloody and he had returned the favor. She had put an iratze on him to heal him when he was at his worst. She had him at him most vulnerable. So didn't it just make sense she would love him?
