"That's the guy whose brother went to prison for killing someone."
"His brother killed an innocent girl."
"I wonder how it feels to be related to a murderer."
He here's those whispers everyday at college or when he's walking around in the streets. He hates those people. Can't they just shutup? They don't know anything. Josh hated that it happened, so he hates hearing about it. But everywhere he goes he hears about it. At college, in the streets, on TV, from his family. People wouldn't stop following him, asking him questions about what had happened and how he feels about it....But he hates talking about it more than he hates hearing about it, so he'll always just say:
"He didn't do it."
Why do people have to keep talking about it? It's been almost a year since it happened. Why wouldn't people just let it go?
"Drake Parker is guilty of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison."
It's been almost a year since they took his brother away from him. It's been almost a year since he lost his lover forever behind bars.
"Drake! Drake! I promise I'll find who framed you and prove you innocent! No matter how long it takes! I promise Drake! I love you!"
Josh had broken down at Drake's sentence. When the guards started pulling Drake out of the court room, Josh jumped out of his seat and cried out a promise to him.
"Josh, Josh....I didn't do it!"
Josh never doubted Drake's words. He believed Drake...He knew Drake. Drake couldn't hurt anyone. Drake only met that girl once and that was the day that girl was murdered...But that doesn't mean it was Drake....Someone framed him. Josh wasn't alone at trying to find Drake innocent, so were Helen and Megan. Everyone else betrayed Drake....Even Audrey and Walter.
"The evidence is all here. Drake's foot print in the blood, his finger prints on the knife....And he was the last one to be seen with the murder victim. So if that doesn't prove him guilty then I don't know what does."
Josh, Helen, and Megan tried and tried, but failed. Which Josh found hard to believe with having Helen who never let Drake down before and his smart, evil little sister who always got away with everything, being on his side and all.
He missed Drake. He hasn't seen Drake since his sentence. His family and the police won't let him. Josh is pissed at his family and the police. They took his whole world away from him and won't even let him see him. Josh was never this angry, never this sad in his whole life. He needed Drake. He needed Drake more then he needed anything. He was empty, lonely, and depressed without Drake.
Josh kicked a rock hard, shoving his hands in his pockets, and bit down on his lower lip.
Why? Why was the world being this cruel?
Why did the world have to tear them apart like that?
Who could of framed Drake?
Why would they want to frame Drake?
That's what he asks everyday to himself...But no matter how hard or long he thinks he can't find the answers. That person ruined his life, he needed that person to set Drake free. It's been a while, that person could be long gone by now....But he had made a promise to Drake and he was going to keep it.
