"What is it that you desire?"
Jotaro awoke to a world of darkness. He was floating, alone, in darkness and yet he swore he heard someone else's voice within the void.
"You'll never find him."
Clenching his fists Jotaro looked around becoming quickly frustrated. The source of the voice seemed to come from everywhere and yet it was nowhere in sight.
"Come find him, Jotaro."
As soon as he felt that he was on solid ground Jotaro began to run. He discovered, however, that the faster he wanted to go the slower he became. His legs felt like they were being dragged through thick, knee-high mud. His frustration only grew worse slightly affecting his vision. In the middle of Jotaro's struggling a light pierced the darkness. At the same time his body froze as if arrested by the development. Feeling oddly calmed he was forced to look into the light.
Inside the light were memories. Faces of friends and foes alike flashed as the light shined brighter and brighter. The voice began to speak again.
"I'll be here to darken your pits of despair, Jotaro. I am eternity!"
The next morning Jotaro awoke in a cold sweat. Steadying himself the memory of his dream quickly began to fade into the back of his mind. He looked around the hotel room lost for a moment before he remembered where exactly he was. This was his room in the Morioh Grand Hotel. Jotaro heaved himself out of bed and went to have a smoke on the balcony. Looking down into the town the people of Morioh were already well awake.
As he smoked he reflected on the fragments of his dream. Why had it caused him so much distress? Could it be the feeling that he recognized the voice from somewhere, but couldn't place it? As the wisps of smoke from his cigarette rose into the sky Jotaro decided to put the issue aside. Today would be another busy day of research to find the serial killer lurking in Morioh.
