Shino turned his head from side to side, observing his surroundings. The trees were blowing in the wind, and the water beetles chirped their soothing songs. The grass blew in the breeze. Shino was not at ease however, the calmness was eerie. He was in the middle of a spar, and his opponent just disappeared. Taking out a kunai, he put it in his teeth, forming the handsigns for an insect clone. Back to back, they circled, taking no chances.
Where did you go…?"he asked under his breath.
Another gust of wind blew by, and a frog jumped into the water of the stream. He saw the girl nowhere. A rustling in the tall grass, followed by the sharp thwack of a kunai hitting earth, revealed a rabbit hiding nearby. Shino wanted to take no chances. He knew the training was going to be difficult, but, by far, his expectations were exceeded.
He had laughed when she had suggested they play ninja hide-and-seek, a game he hadn't played since before the academy. It was a combination of a spar and hide-and-seek. They would attempt to find the other, and upon doing so, attack. The thing was, he had failed to find her. He didn't even have a chance to plant a female kikai to track her. Looking more intensely, his gave went across the span of the woods, while his clone gazed across the creek. The clone nudged his back suddenly.
"Hey, boss…"
Shino looked into the direction it pointed, and saw a flash of indigo. Target spotted.
"Thanks," he told the clone before dispersing it.
Gripping the kunai tightly, he set off in a dead run.
Just a drabble. It was originally a sample post on my RP site, but I like it enough to keep. I've been working on my writing skills. I was going to turn this into a story, but I decided to make it a small drabble spar between Shino and Hinata. I may add on if I get bored.
