This story takes place during the Degrassi Goes Hollywood movie.
I always imagined what Jay and Manny talked about on the bus at night, so I thought up this story that occurs the night Jay told Manny to stop talking to Mick.
I do not own Degrassi or anything that has to do with it.
It seemed as if Jay had been driving that dirty, yellow bus for years, but truthfully, it had only been two days. Earlier that day, Jay and Manny had a small altercation when he had told her that she was not allowed to talk to Mick while she was in Jay's presence. Manny threw a fit about it, but then she shared a moment with Jay, which they both felt sort of rekindled some of their old romance.
At around midnight, Jay was tired and wanted to stop driving, and call it a day. The band and Mia were already sound asleep, and Manny appeared to be asleep as well. Jay realized that he was in the middle of nowhere, and his only option to stop was along the side of the road. When he pulled over, he ran over some rocks and bushes, and the bus rocked a little causing Manny to wake up.
"Jay, what are you doing?" Manny whined.
"Stopping, I'm tired," Jay retorted back as he started to make his way towards the middle of the bus.
Manny was lying on a bus seat with her legs stretched across the aisle way, and her feet rested on the seat across from her.
"Move your feet, so I can get my blanket," Jay ordered Manny.
"Fine." Manny sat up in her seat and started to shiver from the cold Canadian air. Jay walked passed her as she rolled her eyes at him.
"You know, you were being sweet earlier, telling me not to talk to Mick," Manny looked back at Jay hoping he heard her.
Looking back at Manny, Jay felt bad for being a little sour because he really did not want to be mean. He just didn't want to hurt himself by falling even more in love with her. He rolled his eyes trying to hide his emotions and responded "You look cold. Want a blanket?"
"Thanks." Manny smiled with his offer, and then turned back around in her seat.
Jay picked up two blankets, walked back to Manny, and sat in the seat across from her.
"Here yah go, Dimples," he grinned as he handed her the blanket.
"There's the sweet guy I was talking about." Manny took the blanket and it around her. Noticing how the blanket smelled like Jay, she looked over and gave him a big, warm smile.
"So about earlier, I was just trying to help you. I remembered how I used to help you at Tony's and…." Jay paused not sure of what to say.
"And what?" Manny asked.
"I don't know. You just seemed more confident and sure of yourself with me."
"Well, things are a lot bigger then they were back then. It's different," Manny tried to defend her relationship with Mick even though she knew that she was more confident with Jay.
"Well like I said, I was just trying to help."
"Thanks, but I don't need your help." Manny realized that now she was being mean to Jay, but she felt like she was letting him back in. She couldn't do that to herself, or at least not until Jay proved he could be trusted.
"Right," Jay responded as he stood up. "I'm going to sleep now, so goodnight, Boo."
As he walked down the aisle to a seat in the front of the bus Manny smiled and said, "Night, Jay."
