I forced myself through the restless waters, coughing up even more blood once I got to the shore. I picked him up with all my strength and could only get him about three feet from the water. I hoped I would have enough time before the waves got higher on shore.

"Link, wake up!" I shook him; he couldn't die on me, not now. He made no movement, no reaction to my efforts. The only way I could tell he still had a chance was his uneven breathing.

"Link, no, you have to wake up!" I said, just a little louder than the last time. Than in protest, my body writhed, and I coughed up more blood onto the turban covering my face. I didn't care if I lived, or if I could even talk again. Link needed to live.

"Link!" I shouted, but I was just answered by an echo from the rocks surrounding me.

"Link," my voice was merely a whisper now, "don't die…."

I bet you're wondering how I got myself in this situation. Begging for the Hero of Time to live. I didn't want this, I wanted a normal teenagers life. I never wanted a creepy guy dressed in green to tell me that I wasn't supposed to live in this century, nor did I want to fall in love with him. I'm going to tell you this story before either of us die, before I cough up all of the blood within my body…..

And with all this irony, can you believe it all started on the first day of school?
