She slowly leaned left and turned into a small parking lot of a church. The sound of Hermes' motor was loud in the surrounding silence. There weren't many people around at the time, so it really was as silent as the grave when she cut his motor, kicked down his stand and walked away.
As he sat there watching Kino's retreating back, he has to wonder what was going through her mind as she neared the small graveyard. She has to visit almost every single one they pass by recently, and Hermes is still left in the dark as to why. He's asked her before, but she don't quite give him an answer that satisfies him.
Hermes sighs and his kickstand creaks a little. So boring, he thinks. Normally he would also tell Kino his mind about things that are boring to him, but he feels that it's not his place to try to stop Kino from doing this odd practice. Maybe she feels like she has to atone for something, or maybe she just wants to stop by. Maybe it's just another way for her to see the world, by visiting those who have already left it.
Just as he was starting to get too warm in the midday sun, he saw Kino start to come back.
"Welcome back." He said as she neared him.
Kino didn't answer. "Kino? Did you find what you were looking for?"
"...Actually, yes. I did. Don't you recognize where we are?"
"Yeah, I've seen plenty of graveyards," he replied stupidly. She laughed and shook her head.
"No, I mean what country we are. We just so happen to be in a town that's closest where... Sakura lived." It finally dawned on him what Kino was looking for.
"And you... found her?"
Kino slowly looked back over to the graveyard. "I did. She would have been happy being buried so close to her wonderful country."
Hermes said nothing, but he silently agreed with her. Kino mounted him and slipped her age old goggles over her somewhat red eyes. She cranked him up and finally was on the road again.
The next time they passed a cemetery, Kino didn't even pay it any mind.
