The Hunt
~silverfox ventura~
As i sit on my usual perch, in the forbidden mortal realm of ningenkai, i think of my prey. The one i hunt for, the one i chase. I shall always chase after him, for he is uncatchable. He is unreachable to my arms, and i shall never achieve my goal. The wind runs its gentle fingers through my hair causing it to flow out behind me like a neverending sea of silver. I watch him from my perch in the old oak tree that grows outside his bedroom window. He stirs in his sleep, his red hair tangles as his head moves across his pillow. I smile as i watch him sleep. He is the ultimate prize, the one thing i would give anything for. I have hunted him for many years, and i shall hunt him for many more. It is for him that i have become what i have become. My precious Kurama, i will always follow you. You are my obsession. As i think of him, my heart flutters. My chest feels light, and my breaths shallow. I take in a deep breath and let out a long sigh. I had been here in ningenkai for hours, watching my precious prey soundly sleep. My eyes where droopy and my limbs were weak from sleep deprivation. I dont care. As long as i can be with him, even if i can only see him from a distance.
My ears twitch, and my body perks up as a noise comes from the front of the two story house. I know who this must be, and i cannot risk being caught. I quickly jump down from the branch that i had been perched opon for the past few hours, and reluctently call opon my you-ki to create a portal to Maikai. I turn and glance back at the quiet peaceful house in which kurama resides. A smile slips from my lips. I stand quiet for a moment. My dear kurama, i wish i could just hold you in my arms once. To feel your skin would bring me such bliss. I tip my head towards the ground, closing my eyes. I know in my heart it can never be. He can never even know who i am. I feel something brush against my back as a soft breeze toys with my hair. I am reminded of the situation, and why i must leave. I must go now kurama, but i will be back. As i have always done, and as i will always do, i will return to you tomarrow night. Sleep well my prey...
The portal closes behind me as i reluctantly jump thru. As i land on the hard, cold, barron wasteland that i call home, I suddenly regret not bringing my shoes. The cold wet stones leave tiny indents in the bottom of my feet in their likeness. The humidity is high and a tiny raindrop falls from the sky and hits my cheek. Before long it is drizzling, and i am somewhat comforted by the shower. I remember what a dear friend had once said to me, "I like it when it rains, it hides my tears. Noone can tell when you are crying when it rains." I smiled half heartidly. Slowly, the rain slacks off until it entirly stops. I look up into the sky, and to my surprise there are two rainbows, side by side. They are like me and kurama. Although they are side by side, they will never touch, and they will never know of eachothers existance. There is one difference, ive noticed him, and i know all to well that he exists. I smiles as i disapear into a small dense forest. Another day has begun, another day of my hunt.
