Author's Note: This is my first Haven fic so I's love some feedback. I have another one almost done as well as a multi chapter fic that is still a work in progress. So if you want more you'd better let me know because lately my muse is a fickle thing and it may just settle on some other fandom.

One thing I forgot to do was thank Liights for the beta. She did a marvelous job. Thanks so much.

Audrey sat alone in the dark waiting for... What, she wasn't sure. Redemption maybe. Earlier that night she'd provoked a disturbed boy into killing himself. She wasn't sure how she felt about it.

It reminded her of another incident back when she'd been in the FBI: a serial killer had chosen death by cop over going to prison. It was her bullet that had took his his life just as her words had ended a life earlier that night. Was this the same thing? Audrey wasn't sure.

She closed her eyes to try and shut out the memory of the ball of flame that had once been Matt.

"Parker?" Nathan's voice came just before his knock. "Let me in. Brooding in the dark isn't healthy."

In spite of her previously dark thoughts, Audrey smiled and made her way to the door, turning off the light on her way. "You're probably right. Wanna come in?" She asked holding the door wide and making a sweeping motion with her hand.

"That's usually why someone shows up late at night with food." He told her holding up a bag oftakeout. "I was pretty sure you hadn't eaten anything so I came bearing gifts, including Rosemary's cupcakes."

With a huge grin, Audrey grabbed the cupcakes and shoved one in her mouth as the smell of buttermilk surrounded her. "Let me guess, pancakes?"

"Yep. I sweet talked Lavern into making me some just before she shut off the grill."

Stuffing a second cupcake into her mouth, Audrey closed the door. She realized as she turned around that Nathan's presence seemed to fill the small room and banished all the shadows. Closing her eyes, she felt a moment of peace.

Opening her eyes once more she watched as Nathan placed the takeout carton on the rickety table and hunted in the spartan styled kitchenette for plates and utensils.

A few minutes later they sat down together at the table. Audrey picked at her food as she wondered how she felt about today and the man sitting across from her.

Nathan startled her when he gripped her hand. "You saved a lot of people today. Don't be ashamed of that. Matt made his choice. If we still had our guns we would have shot him. You did what you could with the tools at hand."

Squeezing his hand in return, Audrey knew he was right. No matter what came their way, Audrey knew they'd weather the storm because for the first time she wasn't alone. She was home.
