A/N: Hey all! Back with a drabble for ya. I've already written a fic based on 'She Wants A Cowboy', but that was for a different fandom so I figured it would be alright to write one for Girl Meets World. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: If I owned it I wouldn't be writing fanfiction
Riley looked around the fancy dinner hall and sighed. Every boy had dressed up in the same way: fancy ties, pin stripe suits, gold cuff links, and Italian shoes. All of them were Wall Street clean with their hair slicked back. As the time slowly ticked by for the honors luncheon she was invited to, more and more guys attempted to flirt with her, to whom she politely brushed away. Her mind was on someone else. All these guys had it wrong when they tried to impress her with their expensive looking tastes and smooth talking. She likes boots and hats; she wanted a cowboy. Or more specifically, her cowboy.
For what seemed to be the twentieth time, Riley's mind began to drift. It had been a while since the two of them went riding in the wide open, with no fences holding them in. He roped in her dreams, with his southern charm he grew up with back in Texas, and the slight southern drawl in his voice.
She wanted her cowboy.
Finally, the luncheon was over, much to Riley's delight. Going there helped Riley realize one very important point: now she really didn't want to go to that college.
As she walked by the parking lot, she noticed several of the other invited students climbing into their Porsches or Rolls Royces while bragging about their personal sailboats to the few girls that came.
Riley shook her head as she continued to walk by. How they were able to afford all of that was beyond her. Even if she did have that kind of money, she wouldn't spend it on such and expensive car. Besides, she liked horses better, even though they were harder to come by in New York City. Especially when riding with him, Riley thought as her mind brought her back to the first time they rode together
"To me, you're a princess."
She came out of her daze and saw Lucas standing right where he said he would meet her. He greeted her with a small peck on the cheek and smiled.
"So," he began. "How did it go?"
Riley shrugged as Lucas wrapped his arm around her shoulder and led her to where his truck was parked. "Going there helped me realize all the more that I don't want to go to that school. I don't care what my dad says. It may be a great school, but the people that would have been my classmates freaked me out."
The two of them stepped into the truck and got ready to head home.
"Any idea of where you'd like to go?" Lucas asked as he drove out onto the road.
She shrugged once again as she answered. "I don't know. But I do know I'd like to be with you, wherever I go."
Lucas took ahold of Riley's hand and rested them on the gear shift as he thought about how lucky he was to have her in his life. Ropin' her dreams, lucky for me I was her choice… isn't that the truth.
