Erik strolled down the dark corridor to the mirror. It was Christine's 16th birthday and he wanted to the first to wish her a happy birthday. When he reached the mirror he saw she was still sleeping. It was nearly seven, she would wake up soon and he would be waiting.
As Erik watched her sleep he suddenly realized just how beautiful she was. Christine had always been beautiful, but this was different. He shook off the feeling
She's a girl, a little girl
Getting older it is true, which is what they always do
Till that unexpected hour when they blossom like a flower
Oh no…realization hit Erik like a ton of bricks. Oh no…
But there's sweeter music when she speaks, isn't there?
A different bloom about her cheeks, isn't there?
Could I be wrong? Could it be so? Oh where, oh where did Christine go?
How had he not seen it before?
Christine am I fool without a mind? Or have I merely been too blind to realize?
Oh, Christine, why you've been growing up before my eyes…
Christine! You're not at all that funny, awkward little girl… I knew…Oh no! Over night there's been a breathless change in you.
Oh Christine, while you were trembling on the brink, was I out yonder somewhere blinking at a star?
He couldn't believe it! He'd fallen in love with his angel.
Oh Christine, have I been standing up too close? Or back to far?
When did your sparkle turn to fire? And your warmth become desire?
Oh what miracle has made you the way you are?
The song is 'Gigi' from Lerner and Loewe's Gigi. The character Gaston sings it when he realizes he's in love with Gigi. Obviously, I replaced all the Gigis' with Christines'. If you listen to the song you'll see I cut the end out because it's the same as the last bit. Hope you liked it! Review, please!
