A small Lovino looked askance at the reddening sky with his ever-present scowl. The sun was slowly setting over the horizon giving way to the soon to be luminous night sky of galaxies far away. Everyday he waited at the front of the house. And everyday with each passing sunset, his hope of Antonio, his self-proclaimed "boss", coming back decreased. He sat in the growing silence of dusk, just waiting.

"I promise I'll come back." Those were the last words he heard from Antonio's leaving figure.

"It's not like I care about that old guy," he told himself quickly. But deep down the truth screamed at him, 'He was the only one nice enough to want to keep me, unlike that Austrian guy who always blamed his house being in shambles on me. The shelves just decided to fall down every time I had to clean.' Eventually night fell and it was too late for the child to stay out so exhausted, he dragged himself to bed tucking himself in, wishing it were Antonio instead.

The next day, in the long hours before his daily ritual, he decided to forgo his usual habit of being the laziest henchman known to man and to keep his mind off the waiting. Or at least try, because old habits die-hard and it's the thought that counts right?

Lovino decided that since it was warm and the weather was nice, he would open the windows and doors of the Spanish villa. Sporadic breezes carrying the sounds of nature traveled through the halls and in Lovino's memory, the sound of Antonio playing his guitar on lazy afternoons. With those thoughts Lovino proceeded in his attempts at keeping their house clean.

Sadly cleaning was a downfall of his in which his little brother seemed to excel in. Nevertheless at the end of Lovino's struggle he managed to get the house looking decent, minus the several broken dishes but they can be replaced eventually. By the time he was finished he was tired but the sun was starting to set and it was time for him to wait for Antonio.

After grabbing a tomato from the kitchen, Lovino walked out to the front of the house and sat on the stairs, once again waiting. Eventually Lovino fell asleep against the railing of the stairs, the half eaten tomato lay forgotten at his side. And this was how Antonio found his little henchman when he finally returned home from his journey later that night.

This sight brought a smile to Antonio's tired face. Managing on not waking up the child, he carried Lovino into the house. As he walked to Lovino's room he saw that Lovino attempted to clean again. 'He was actually getting better', he thought to himself, 'and not breaking as many dishes thankfully', he'd have to commend Lovino later in the morning.

Finally Antonio made it to his destination and slowly tucked Lovino in at to not wake him. But Antonio noticed that his henchman started to stir in his sleep. 'Probably another nightmare,' he thought sadly. In order to calm Lovino, he started to sing his favorite lullaby.

In Lovino's dreams he thought that him seeing Antonio returning would lead to another lonely sleepless night. But as he struggled to wake, a familiar tune slipped into his dream; it was Antonio's singing but it sounded close this time, not like a distant memory. Slowly Lovino opened his eyes, sleepy hazel eyes met emerald eyes, and to his shock and soon happiness he realized that this wasn't a dream and that Antonio was actually there with him.

"You came back, you jerk," he said with tearful eyes. Antonio just smiled and said, "Now why would I ever have a reason to break a promise with you?"

That night Lovino fell asleep in his bed again, but this time it was Antonio that tucked him in and for once after a long time, he was able to sleep peacefully knowing that Antonio was safe and more importantly, home.
