*Okay, this is a short story... Another twist added to the night Liz left Jase. -sighs- Okay, I was going to make it that they slept together and she was pregnant, but now that I have this song on repeat... Nope, not doing that. Let's just say the stress is catching up with her.*

"Whoa," Elizabeth fell back. She had been dizzy, but now she was fighting with Jason, and the stress was hitting her. Hard. Everything dimmed to black. Now, she was laying somewhere, and she could hear people talking to her, but she couldn't wake up. She couldn't move at all. Weird.

"How Can I just let you walk away? Just let you leave without a trace? When I stand here taking every breath with you... You're the only who really knew me at all. How can you just walk away from me? When all I can do is watch you leave? Cause we shared the laughter, and the pain. We even shared the tears. You're the only one who ever really knew me at all," Jason repeated the one sentence. The doctors said she was fine. Tired, and Stressed out, but fine. She just wouldn't wake up. It was like she wouldn't let herself wake up. She was resting. "So, take a look at me now, 'cause there's just an empty space. There's nothing left here to remind me. Just the memory of your face. Take a look at me now, when there's just an empty space. And you coming back to me is against all odds, and that's what I've got to face," Jason sighed, and got up to leave.

"I wish I could just make you turn around. Turn around, and see me cry," Jason barely heard her at first. But he heard her sob filled voice. Loud and Clear. He stopped dead in his tracks. "There's so much I need to say to you. So many reasons why. You're the only one who ever really knew me. So, take a look at me now, 'cause there's just an empty space. There's nothing left here to remind me. Just the memory of your face. Take a look at me now, when there's just an empty space. And you coming back to me is against all odds, and that's what I've got to face," Jason turned to her. Finally. Elizabeth had pulled herself out of bed, and stuck her hands in her jean pockets before speaking again.

"Take a good look at me now. 'Cause I'll still be standing here. And your coming back to me is against all odds. It's a chance I've got to take," Elizabeth repeated his words. Jason crossed to her and captured his lips with hers. No one was bailing. 'No bailing?'... Her words echoed through the room... 'Deal, No bailing.' his answer flowed through. The words were spoken so long ago, but the promise had just now been sealed.

* okay, review for me! Oh, yeah...

Disclaimer - I don't own Jason, Elizabeth or the song.. It's Against All Odds (Take A Look at Me) by Mariah Carey. It's #9 on her CD Rainbow!*
