Betrayal
~*~
A/N: This is my first Naruto fiction. I've read a couple of stories like this, but I don't know if this is going to be as good as any of them. Just sit back, and find out!
Disclaimer: No, I'm not the owner of Naruto, because I do not have a dead plant named Ukki-kun. That would be kinda funny though…
NOTE: Naruto in this chapter is 15-YEARS-OLD. He will be older later on.
~*~ Chapter One ~*~
Betrayal.
That was all that I felt.
They didn't come for me.
They never came for me.
But, what have I ever done for Konoha?
Well, there was Gaara, but only Sasuke and Gaara himself probably believed that I beat him.
Sakura maybe, but she was most likely doubtful of the chance that I, Uzumaki Naruto, beat Gaara of the Sand.
What the hell am I moaning about anyway, I'm already kidnapped and locked in a chakra-eating cage. Reminiscing about it won't help.
But I still can't help but think…
What have I ever done to ANYBODY to deserve this?

"We scouted all over the Fire Country, Tsunade-sama," the 5th Anbu squad captain informed the newest Hokage.
"And?" Tsunade asked impatiently.
"Uzumaki Naruto is nowhere to be found. There isn't even a trace of him but these…" The masked man handed her the remaining items.
"Naruto…" she muttered regretfully as she fingered the ore necklace she gave him and his Konoha Leaf forehead protector, on the back etched 'UZUMAKI N.'

"T-They can't find him? Not e-even Sasuke?" Sakura stuttered. She felt if her knees were going to fall out from under her.
"No, they didn't find him. His house is a mess; broken dishes and glass all over the place, bed sheets ripped in half with blood stains on them… Sakura, they'll find Naruto, I know they will…" Ino said reassuringly.
Sakura knew that Naruto held some people's lives together. He was amazing. He gave everybody so much hope but still having tons saved up for himself. She knew that she was one of those people.
Sakura looked up into the darkening clouds. It would rain tonight.
*Meanwhile…*
"Naruto…" a whimper was heard in the Head Branch Hyuuga household.
"You know, you really shouldn't fawn over that loudmouth idiot, Hinata. There's something wrong with him. Now, whenever Father hears his name, he tenses up!"
"Hanabi?" Hinata whispered from her crumpled heap on the floor. She looked up at her cold, younger sister.
"Just quit being a shinobi," Hanabi snapped. "It's too harsh for you. No, you're too soft for it. Stay at home and be a good girl… clean the house, weave, and study. Wait for Father to find you a proper suitor. Maybe then you'll forget about that idiot."
Her sister's hard words only made Hinata sob harder into her bulky jacket.
"Anyways, Father's already made the decision that I will be the Successor of the Hyuuga."

'Naruto, where are you?' Sasuke thought to himself. He had become the captain of the 7th Anbu squad about a year before, as everybody thought he would. He readjusted his mask as he hopped from tree to tree. 'You better not be hurt, dobe, or I might kill you myself…'
As he was searching, he didn't seem to notice the faint, throbbing pain from the seal on his neck.

'Get out of the cage, you damn kid!" a rather large, beaten up man yelled, snatching at the scrawny blond behind bars. Naruto hadn't eaten for at least three days now, and all he was given was water. But the future Hokage of Konoha still packed a punch, and the bruises on the mans face proved it.
"Let me handle it," a grayish haired young man stepped up towards the cage.
Naruto growled. "You… Kabuto…"
"Why, hello, Naruto! Nice to see you so soon after I recovered from that blow you gave to my stomach. Are you happy on how much recovery I had to do?" Kabuto smiled, too innocent to be real.
'Damn it,' Naruto thought to himself. 'Since I haven't eaten, I'm too weak to even use Ransegan, let alone take on Kabuto…'
Suddenly, the medical-nin flicked a needle out of his pocket and flung it straight at Naruto's arm.
And it hit directly.
The pain in Naruto's arm was slowly ebbing away as he felt sleep overcome him.
But he heard Kabuto say one last thing.
"Yes, Orochimaru-sama will be pleased with our catch."
