DISCLAIMER: I don't own Harry potter. Wouldn't that be grand if I did?
I stand here
At your grave
Wishing you could be here
Celebrating Mother's Day
I've missed you so
But that's how life goes
I wish you were here with me
Instead of beneath this tree
I want you to know
Though I haven't always been able to show
You're important to me
And you always will be
When Teddy was finished reading his poem, he was silent for a little while. It was hard to believe that she had been gone almost fourteen years. It saddened him when he thought of her. He figured it was just because he never really got a chance to know her. He didn't get the opportunity to talk with her, well have a conversation that he could remember.
A lump began to form in Teddy's throat. He promised himself that he wouldn't cry this time, like he had the years before. Every year, he broke that promise to himself, and he cried. As the tears began to subside, he laid the bouquet of Bachelor's Buttons. They had been his mother's favorite flowers, or so he'd been told by Molly. Molly had furthered explained why. It was because Bachelor's Buttons represented hope. Hope that this would be a better world. A world in which witches and wizards didn't have to be frightened for their family's safety.
A thunder rumbled through the air and rain began to come down. It was just a light sprinkle but Teddy knew it would turn into a downpour soon. Looking at her headstone one last time, he repeated the words inscribed there.
"A mother, a daughter, a wife, and a friend. Taken too soon from those who loved her."
He felt fresh tears begin to prick at the back of his eyes. Wiping his eyes with sleeve of his jacket, he turned to leave.
Turning back for a moment, he whispered, "I love you, Mom."
Author's Note: I will have another poem about Mother's Day up soon. I just have to type it. I would just like to say Happy early Mother's Day to every mom out there. This poem is dedicated to my grandma. Reviews are so nice to see ;)
