Author note: Someone told me this joke, thinking that being a Christian I wouldn't laugh and therefore could say 'See Christians don't have a sense of humor about God'. Well I laughed; in fact this became my favorite joke. (Of course, I clean up the language) Later it became a life lesson.

The mistakes are mine but all the glory goes to God, of course.

A Joke

A man had a little house on a little hill across the road from a very large river. One spring day it began to rain and as it often happen the river began to rise. As the water overflow the river bank a truck stopped at the man's home.

"Come get in!" said the driver to the man who stood by the road watching the river go by. "We'll take you to higher ground."

"That's O.K." the man replied. "God will provide. God will provide." And the truck drove away.

Later as the man stood in his yard and watch the water flood the road, a rowboat came up to him.

"Come on! Get in." the rower said to him. "We'll take you to higher ground."

"That's O.K." the man answered. "God will provide. God will provide." And the boat rowed away.

Later as the man stood on his stoop and watch the water surround his house, a speed boat came to a stop in front of him. "Come on! Get in." said the man behind the wheel. "We'll take you to higher ground."

"That's O.K." the man called back. "God will provide. God will provide." And the boat sped away.

And later when the man was on the highest point of his roof, eyeing the water as it slowly rose to his feet. And helicopter flew to his house and the pilot said. "Come on! Get in! We'll take you to higher ground!"

The man shouted back. "That's O.K! God will provide! God will provide!"

And soon the water swept the house and the man along with it. When the man arrived in heaven he waited to talk to God.

"Why God?" he asked. "I was faithful and believed in you, believed that you would save me! Why didn't you provide for me?"

"Didn't provide?" God answered back. "I sent you a truck, then a rowboat, then a fast boat, then a helicopter. Then I brought you here. What more did you want me to provide?"

People spend their entire life waiting for the "big" rescue that they miss all the wonderful things He provides.

God's miracles aren't always the big production. Sometimes, most times, they are the little presents.

God works in mysterious way but sometimes His ways are simple.

Don't keep looking for the MIRCLE to happen because you might miss all the miracles when they happen.
