Once upon a time there lived a girl. She was nothing special, only that she lived with her head in the clouds. She stared off into space, and whispered her thoughts to the universe. She whispered of great happenings. To her. To the world.
And then They came. The skies grew gray and cloudy, the winds picked up and peculiar types of projectiles fell from the sky. From over the noise of the entire world, came the sound of the universe, of time, of life.
A blue box sat in her yard and the girl was curious.
The world was in chaos. People spoke of destruction and death, but only because they knew not of the protector. The one who would help, The Doctor.
The girl knew though. The protector had rolled out of the blue box and asked her if she wanted to save the world.
She could not say no.
The projectiles opened. They plunged into the earth, took hold, and fired a laser up into space where They were waiting. People no longer spoke about annihilation, they shouted it.
They still knew nothing of The Doctor and the girl, who ran and ran and laughed and fixed.
They were gone. People sat in their homes relieved, but not quite sure why.
He offered her the universe.
She had thought of the adventures, the chance. But then she thought of her sister. Who was just like her, but instead lived with her entire being in the clouds, scattered across dreams and hopes.
The girl said no.
But her sister said yes.
Once upon a time there was a girl. She was nothing special, only that she lived with her head in the clouds and her heart traveled the universe with a mad man with a big blue box. She whispers to the universe and sometimes it whispers back, telling about her sister's adventures with the man who whisked her away, if only for a while.
She knows that this is for the best.
That doesn't mean that it hurts the least.
Just a short one-shot. I don't own Doctor Who. Probably just a stand alone with no sequel. Hope you enjoyed!
