She hated mirrors. For weeks after she returned, any mirror which entered her sight was shattered.
He loved mirrors. In fact, he collected them. His favorites were exotic, made of dark materials, with almost familiar designs inscribed upon them.
He is still searching. He will find a way back to her, no matter how long it takes. He will search the world for mirrors—whole, broken, or shattered—for he is one chosen by the Goddesses; he is blessed by Farore.
Recently, she looks wistfully at those places where mirrors used to rest. She does not ask anyone where she might find a mirror: she is too proud. Her servants, however, take matters into their own hands. Seeing the change in their princess, they bring out an old mirror, treasured by the Twili Royalty since their beginning, and return it to its place of honor in the throne room.
This is the first time the servants have seen their princess cry. She approaches the mirror, with tears in her eyes, and reaches out to touch the mirror. The servants do not understand the significance of this mirror, but she does—even if it will not work alone.
He has found a new mirror, and it is his new favorite. Somehow, it reminds him of the original mirror (of her), although it is much too bright. He has noticed, however, that the mirror glows every day at twilight. He will ask the princess of this soon, he resolves. He will meet his princess again soon.
Their journey, from the very beginning, was difficult, and although the two were required to part upon its conclusion, they have not given up. With every meeting comes a parting, but that parting need not last forever. The mirrors will glow together, and the separated will be reunited.
The Goddesses are not cruel to their children.
I hate thinking that Link and Midna will never meet again. So I cobbled this together while I was working, a week or two back. Didn't edit it significantly; this is it in its (mostly) original form.
