Alfred sat in a chair in Arthur's living in front of the television set on low volume. His head hurt badly and he just wanted to go to sleep, but he didn't want Arthur to know he was in so much pain.

"Hey America," Arthur said. "I'm going to bed oka…"

He stared at the figure in front of him, clearly in pain of some sort and leaned down next to him.

"Hey America," Arthur asked. "Are you ok?"

"Huh," Alfred shook his head but then held it in pain. "Yeah I'm fine…"

"No you're not," Arthur put a hand under Alfred's chin and turned his head towards his own. "You've got the darkest circles ever under your eyes and from the way your acting, your head hurts."

Alfred sighed. He couldn't fight it anymore.

"Alright," Alfred replied. "My head hurts really badly so what?"

"So," Arthur helped Alfred up. "We're getting you to bed."

"I'm not tired." Alfred complained.

"Your eyes say otherwise," Arthur flung him over part of his shoulder and the pair walked up the stairs. "Now stop being stubborn."

Once Arthur got Alfred upstairs and him into a bed he got him some pills for his head. (hey that rhymes, why yes I am an idiot :P) Alfred groaned at the mere thought of swallowing disgusting pills but did it anyway.

Arthur helped him out of his jacket and shoes, since it hurt for him to even move. Alfred leaned back into his pillow and sighed.

"Why don't you go to sleep," Arthur stated. "You look extremely tired."

"My head hurts really bad Iggy," Alfred leaned into Arthur and wrapped him in a hug. "It really hurts…"

Arthur felt really bad for Alfred for once. He embraced the hug and held Alfred tight.

"I know migraines suck," Arthur laughed. "But it'll feel much better if you just go to sleep?"

"Can you stay here with me," Alfred asked. "I mean just until I fall asleep?"

Arthur could tell in Alfred's eyes that he really meant "Please stay with me all night." Arthur couldn't resist that face, even though most times it drove him absolutely bonkers.

"Fine," Arthur smiled. "But only then…"

Alfred smiled weakly, got under his covers, and Arthur tucked them tight up against Alfred's body. Alfred closed his eyes and buried his face into his pillow. One of his hands tucked underneath the pillow and the other resting on top of it.

Arthur placed the glasses he had removed from Alfred's face on the side table and begun to rub and pat his back. Alfred fell asleep immediately.

Arthur thought back to Alfred's childhood days and when he used to do this every night.

And well that only made Arthur smile bigger.
