Do you consider me the sister?
Things were really coming together and before anyone knew it these five youths had a home, a place to belong, and the Teen Titans were born.
None of them really expected any of this to happen, it was kind of overwhelming for some, and that's where the towers roof came in, becoming a good place to sit and think. Robin found this out the first morning they were officially labeled the Teen Titans. He needed to think and reflect and therefore found himself wandering to the rooftop as the sun rose over the horizon. So later that week when Starfire disappeared he wondered if that was where she had wandered off to.
He was right. He had opened the rooftop door and found her sitting on the edge of the roof, hugging her knees and staring at the orange sun setting over the horizon.
He smiled as he slowly approached her. "Are you okay?" He asked.
"Robin, I am… overwhelmed. Coming to earth I did not expect any of this to happen."
He sat down next to her as she turned to him. "This is all new to me too, I wasn't planning on- well…" He stammered. "I wasn't planning on being part of a team, not this soon anyway. I mean me and Batman we were supposed to be a team, but that's not what ended up happening…" He sighed.
"You were the sidekick, yes?" She asked.
"That's why I left, I was tired of being that, the sidekick." He huffed looking away for a moment before turning to her again. "But then you came along…" He smiled at her before quickly catching himself and turning away nervously, scratching the back of his neck. "You and the others…" He corrected.
"Yes…" She smiled, "I really feel at home here and having these new friends, it's truly wonderful." She smiled.
"I'm glad you feel that way." He said smiling back at her.
"Beast Boy and Cyborg say I'm like the sister to them and that we are like family."
"Yeah, I see why they would say that." He chuckled.
"Do you consider me the sister too?" She asked with a smile.
"What! No!" He shot back, and she immediately faltered.
"I'm sorry, I just thought…" She looked away. "I mean Raven didn't take to kindly to the idea either…"
"No Starfire." He said quickly as she turned back towards him. "It's just… I mean, I don't see you as a sister."
"Oh." She said sorrowfully.
"No, what I mean is… well… the whole kiss thing you did when we first met…" He trailed off.
"Oh, the lip contact." She blushed, "I can't be your sister because of that?" She asked.
"No, I mean… I don't see you as a sister." She faltered again. "No, that's not what I mean!" He corrected.
"Well then what do you mean?" She asked harshly.
"Starfire, what I'm trying to say is…" He stared at her nervously as his breath seemed to be trapped in his throat. "Starfire, I…" He took a big breath and quickly leaned forward and kissed her! It was the quickest of pecks, but it was enough for her to understand so when he pulled away she couldn't help but smile shyly.
"Oh, I see." She blushed.
