Just Say Yes
Percy knew Oliver was up to something. He was more cheerful than usual and when he thought he was not looking he would smile broadly. But Percy had yet to find out why he was so cheerful.
His wonderings were interrupted as Oliver leaned over and placed a kiss on his lips. He smiled as he let Oliver pull him closer, the kiss turning into a snog, which continued until they had to break for air.
"What was that for?" Percy asked, as he regained his breath.
"Can't a man snog his boyfriend without being up to something?"
"Of course you can, you have just been awfully affectionate the last few days." Almost as if to prove his point, Oliver leaned in and kissed him again.
"I can't hide anything from you, can I?" Oliver smiled. "I admit, I have been up to something, but I promise you're going to love it."
"That's what you said when you dragged me to Sweden for the Quidditch World Cup. I did not enjoy that experience at all."
"It wasn't that bad..."
"I was hit by a bludger and was unconscious for hours before waking up with a concussion."
Oliver winced at the memory of how Percy had shouted at him once he felt like his head was not going to split open at loud noises. "Oh, yeah, right. But this has nothing to do with Quidditch at all, and I swear if you don't like it, I will burn down the broom shed with everything still inside."
Percy raised an eyebrow. "Really?"
"Well, I'd kick it a few times. Anywho, that's not what we're going to talk about. Percy, we have been dating for quite a while..."
"Five years, six months and 20 days." Percy interrupted.
"Exactly. And I've fully enjoyed these past five years, five months..."
"Six months."
"Sorry, five years and six months more than anything in my life and I want to spend forever by your side, because it's the one place I know I'll always be happy. I love you, Percy, and that's why I don't want you to be just my boyfriend anymore. I want you to be my husband." He slid down and kneeled before Percy. "Percy Weasley, will you marry me?"
For a second, nothing but stunned silence filled the room. Then...
"Yes," Percy whispered.
Oliver's face lit up in a bright smile. "So, I won't have to set fire to the broom shed?"
"No, you don't." Percy sat down on the floor next to Oliver, cupped his cheek and kissed him, trying to convey all of his emotions in that kiss. It was short, but still left them breathless.
"I love you," Oliver said.
"I love you too. Now and forever."
