WARNING: You NEED to have read all the current chapters of the Fullmetal Alchemist manga. Not the ones at Borders, but the translations online. It's essential; up to Chapter 56, at least. You also need to have seen the end of the anime series. And now, the disclaimers.
Disclaimers: Do you really think I own Fullmetal Alchemist? Do you really think I own the Fullmetal Alchemist? I thought not.

Stranded in a void of empty nothingness was the Gate, a multipurpose concept of reality. It maintained equivalence within the multiverse and acted as barrier between worlds. Now it was faced by one of its most popular users.
Edward Elric.
The boy stared at the Gate, feeling old and tired from his journey. But there were still things to be done, jobs to be finished. His brother could still be brought back, and so long as he was living, he had to try.
The Gates opened with a creak, and thin black arms reached out and grabbed the alchemist. They pulled harshly on his arm and leg, twisting and eating them away. He did not resist; in fact, he wanted it. The due had to be paid. As the arms ate away at his limbs, the spiraling golden light that he'd seen before was once again there. Strange, he thought. Am I going back to that other place?
Suddenly, Edward was overcome by a weird -click click click- strange sensation. The golden light in front of -click click click- before him slowed, then wavered. Black sparks streaked -click click click- dotted the path. A speck appeared in the distance, growing larger and larger until it formed a blob, then a figure, and then- another Door.
What the hell? thought Edward. What was this voice in his head? And why was it everything that voice was saying coming true? For indeed, it was; the Door was approaching at a fast pace. Edward screamed as the Doors opened once again into another world.

This has got to be the shortest chapter I've ever written. Not the suckiest, but definitely the shortest. And hopefully, by the time I've written the second chapter you will be hooked enough to read it.
