It was the train ride home after 6th year. Draco sat in the sanctity of the Prefects cabin on the train. He was deep in his thoughts about the prior events of the year. Suddenly, the door slid open. It was the mudblood, Hermione Granger. She stood there for a minute.
"Where are your bodyguards?" said Hermione sarcastically.
"How should I know?" said Draco, "Probably, pestering the food trolley witch."
Hermione giggled.
"Didn't know you had a sense of humor. Seeing as how all you do is read." said Draco.
"Hmph."
"You have to admit almost all you do is read."
"You are so insensitive sometimes."
"Least no one thinks my friend is crazy." retorted Draco.
Hermione just stood there.
"So did you come here to sit, or for the delightful conversation?"
Hermione laughed.
It was that laugh that started these feelings. When he heard her laugh that day, his heart skipped a beat, and he almost stopped breathing. It wasn't until that moment that he knew how he truly felt about the wavy brown- haired mudblood he had criticized for 5 long years. The same girl who was best friends with his mortal enemy was the girl he loved.
And then he woke up.
As Draco sat up in his bed, he could feel the sweat dripping down his forehead. It was a warm summer night. Draco hadn't slept under the covers because the night was so warm. The memory was still running through his mind when he woke up. How could he be in love with a mudblood? The scum of the wizarding world in the eyes of the purebloods, and yet he had fallen for her.
'I have to stop thinking about her,' Draco thought, "But how do I forget the girl I love?"

It was a breezy, sunny day in Diagon Alley. Hermione was happy to be back in the wizarding world. Even though she had spent a good portion of the summer at the Burrow, there was still something missing. Harry, Hermione, and Ron had come to get their school supplies. Hermione's dad insisted on buying her something extra for making Head Girl. "Dad, you don't have to buy anything," said Hermione for the millionth time. "But you made Head Girl. I think you deserve a gift for getting that title.," said Hermione's dad. (name?) 'Maybe I should just get some clothes or something, just to make him happy' thought Hermione. "Alright, give mum and me the money and I'll go buy some new books or clothes," said Hermione. "You sure you don't want a broomstick or some potion ingredients or something. You always want more books, not that it's a bad thing," said Mr. Granger. "I'm sure," replied Hermione.
So Hermione and her mom walked into Flourish and Blott's and looked around. A few books caught Hermione's eye, Terrific Transfigurations, Potent Potions, and The Advanced Arithmancy guide. Then Hermione noticed an old, tattered red book called "Where the Heart Lies." She picked up the book and thumbed through it. She read the back and the first few lines of the first chapter. 'Amelia would never know how the fiery red-headed boy felt about her, no matter how much he wish he could tell her. He feared being rejected and he feared of ruining their friendship.' "That is really powerful," said Hermione, "I wish someone felt that way about me." Hermione had known all along why she didn't feel like she was really in the wizarding world. It was because the boy she loved wasn't there. He tortured her all the time with his name-calling, and yet she loved him.
**************************************************************************** **************************** A/N: This probably isn't the best story but I would like some comments. I want to know if anyone likes it. If you don't like my story, I want you to say so in the comments. If it's not good then I won't bother to write more chapters.
