The end of all things
Chapter 1: the signs
"The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself."
This is what I keep telling myself. In the end, this might have been the only thing that made me persevere, even after I lost it all. Perhaps I should start from the beginning.

"In conclusion, the apocalypse will happen on the 6-6-06, the day the "devil" was born on." said Jimmy.
"Ya right, I suppose you're telling us that the apocalypse will happen today, June 6, 2006. I highly doubt it. I believe you and the religion you follow are both insane." said an arrogant and ignorant Cindy.
"Don't believe me then. I'm just warning you about your eventual fate; it's not up to me to take heed of the warning- it's up to you." said Jimmy.
At that very moment, the schools fire alarm goes off. Everybody evacuates the building in an orderly manner. The students look around to see where the fire is, while the teachers make sure that all the students are present; nobody is missing. The fire apparently is coming from the science lab. The students watch as the fire starts to slowly consume the entire school. The fire department comes, a little too late, as the entire school has been burned down to ashes. Luckily, no one was hurt. Jimmy gives Cindy the "I'm right" look. Cindy simply walks away. In fact, everyone starts to walk away, as the school is cancelled for obvious reasons. Jimmy decides to walk home alone. As he is walking, Jimmy sees smoke. The smoke is coming from his block. Jimmy runs to his block, only to see his house on fire. The fire department again arrives, a little too late, as Jimmy's house is burned to a crisp. His parents and Goddard were safely watching their house be burned down to ashes. Jimmy runs up to them.
"What happened to our house? Whatever happened, I'm glad your safe." said Jimmy, as he hugs his parents and Goddard.
"We're glad you're safe also. As for what happened, I was cooking some cookies when the stove caught on fire. Your father and I ran outside and immediately called the fire department from Cindy's house. We've been here ever since." said Jimmy's mother.
At that moment, the fire chief called the Neutron residence over to the house, what was left of it that is.
"Did anybody write this?" asked a scared fire chief.
Jimmy and his parents read the message, and shake their heads no. They all go pale in the face. Jimmy, his parents and the entire fire department go to the police station, still shaken up by the message. The message, which was made from burnt grass, simply said 666.
