Ron knows he's average. When he's in a family of over-achievers, it's hard to be anything else but average.

Bill had been a great student as well as a decent Quidditch player. He had been prefect and Head Boy and always well-liked. Even by the professors.

Charlie had been Quidditch Captain and prefect. He was a spectacular Quidditch player. He could have gone pro if he wanted to, and Gryffindor always won with Charlie on the team.

Percy had been an excellent student. He had been prefect and Head Boy. He always followed the rules and did what was expected of him.

Fred and George were not only hilarious, but also great Beaters. They didn't have the raw talent to go pro like Charlie, but if they worked at it, they could definitely make it as a pro Quidditch player. Even with some of the mean-spirited pranks they pulled, they were still well-liked by the majority of the student body.

Ginny is the only girl in the family, so she should be babied and spoiled. She definitely shouldn't be better than her big brother. She's wonderful at Charms and DADA, has some pretty spectacular hexes in her arsenal. She's also a great Quidditch player, can play either Chaser or Seeker. She's not as talented as Harry, but definitely a good player.

Then there are also his two best friends: Harry and Hermione.

Harry is the boy-who-lived, the savior of the wizarding world. He's a great Quidditch player, the youngest Quidditch seeker in over a century. And now he's been named Quidditch Captain.

Hermione is a total brain. She's the smartest witch of her age and always succeeds in anything she tries.

Compared to the witches and wizards he's around, Ron's nothing special. Even making prefect isn't a big deal. Bill, Charlie and Percy have already done it, and Ginny is sure to do it next year when Hermione becomes Head Girl.

Nothing he does is amazing become someone in his family has already done it and probably done it better.

Even so, Ron can't give up on being better than average. It's why he has to make Keeper so bad. Just so he can keep up with his family.

One day, hopefully soon, he'll no longer be average.
