True love • L

"L, are you planning on staying up all night?"

She rolled up on her side, propping an elbow on their shared four-post. She tried to get L to bed by pulling his shirt lightly, but he was too busy with his keyboard clicks to notice.

She sighed audibly.

She applied her final touch of professional face-paint before deeming herself ready to leave, or more like presentable. She took no purse with her nor phone. She wasn't going to buy anything.

She unsealed the front door and walked out.

"Ryugazaki-kun," She stood and grasped an invisible microphone before peering at L wonderfully, "Your lonely wife lay alone and cold in this titanic bed, will you not attempt to turn yourself into a hot water bottle and comfort her?" was her inquiry accompanied by many dramatic arm thrusts.

Her unseen microphone waited hopefully for the other actor to take the stage.

She walked with the sidewalk, passing the many colorful signs that told her where to go. She didn't need them anymore; her feet had already memorized the grey path.

She hummed with the serenade of her footfalls.

L at long-lastingly replaced his computer gaze with the sight of her goofy face. Despite himself he smirked and put his laptop away, stretching himself on the entirety of the mattress.

(Name) was so mouth-gapingly taken aback with the success of her ploy L had to thump her forehead to break the ice.

The stairs needed to be climbed and she had already claimed herself a tribute. One by one, stair by stair, she swiftly reached the top a moment later. She could undisputedly assert the end point of her trip.

She could see him.

"Are you planning on staying up all night?" He not only threw her words back at her but also her actions as he grasped her wrist and pulled her under the warm blankets, though he passed where she failed.

"My lonely and cold wife," He began, staring deeply into her (e/c) hues (exploding with happiness of course), "Will you turn me into a hot water bottle with a kiss?"

She passed the many stones neighboring many other stones while pretending to search for his, maybe she wouldn't find it today.

But she always did.

(Name) giggled ecstatically, "Have you never read the 'Princess and the Frog'? True love's kiss turns you back not into. Unless of course we're talking 'Sleeping Beauty', in which case..," She hid in his shirt, loving this game too much, "I wouldn't mind waking up."

She squatted parallel to his grave, reading the name; making sure his death was real, "Hey L, I miss you." She kissed her open palm and blew but for what? True love's kiss didn't bring back the dead.
