So, I wasn't sure if I wanted to lump this in with Smile or not, but then I decided against it because I'm debating turning this into a multi-chapter thingy. I dunno. Let me know in a review or PM if that's a good idea or not. I'm thinking at least one more chapter, but we'll see what comes from that!
FrancexJeanne d'Arc
Rated K+ because sadface. Ratings subject to change.
Enjoy!~
Je n'ai pas un chance, Francis Bonnefoy thinks quietly to himself. Rain beats down on the pavement outside like a drum, steady and eve and oh so hard, and so the man finds shelter inside of this cafè and daydreams. He sits in a small corner booth, silent and alone, slowly and almost absentmindedly stirring his coffee. His gentle blue eyes have a look of deep longing in them, yearning, or so one might think, as they are trained on a young woman's form. Short-cut dirty-blonde hair, blue eyes, a long leather jacket and jeans and a wide grin like a child's, she is so terribly- what is the phrase?- unordinary. Rebellious.
Her face is familiar to him, and not forgotten- oh, no. Never forgotten.
This girl had once risen. Given by God an impossible task, she had delivered the enemies of France into His hands.
She had been his friend, once. He had yearned for her in a way that he had for so many women, so disgustingly, and yet she had loved him.
That love had bloomed like a rose in its season.
And, as quickly as it had bloomed, it was gone.
He had screamed after her, begged and pleaded, as they dragged her away.
He comforted her as she was given the death sentence.
He held her hand through the bars of her cell as she awaited her execution.
He watched her burn.
Jeanne.
It was her.
She lived.
Sorry it's so short! I decided to see if anyone wanted more before I posted more. The next chapter will be longer, I promise!
Please review! Review if you liked it. Review if you hated it. Review if it was historically inaccurate or grammatically incorrect! Review if you want another chapter! Review if you love Francy-pants! Review if you prefer FrUK or FruCan to some Jeanne d'Arc/Joan of Arc love! Just do it!
