(Hello everyone! This is my first attempt at fanfiction ever, so I would appreciate some constructive criticism/feed back. I figured I'd let myself in easy with some short one-shots about each of the mane six's mornings. Let me know what you think!)
Applejack
6:00
The sun was just breaking dawn as the roosters called, waking Applejack from a peaceful doze. "Mornin' already?" she asked in her country manor, as she rubbed her eyes, before getting out of bed and smoothing the red and white checked sheets out. Guess I'd best go feed the chickens 'fore that racket wakes up Granny Smith she thought, as the hubbub from below her window got louder, the birds expectant of their feed.
She quickly tied back her loose mane and tail, before swiftly trotting downstairs, only to see her sister – Applebloom – already awake and in the kitchen, hauling a large piece of paper onto the kitchen table. "Applebloom, what in Equestria are you doing? You don't need to be getting' ready for school just yet." Applejack asked, peering over the filly's shoulder at her creation.
"I have to get in early, with this!" The young pony explained, beaming at Applejack, looking between her and the paper. It depicted three crudely drawn fillies, one yellow, one orange and one white, inside a glittery hoof-shape with the letters 'CMC' scrawled across the top, and a border of gems. "It's the Cutie Mark Crusader's art project! We've been working all weekend at Rarity's house; I have to get it into school early, to make sure it gets the best spot on the wall!"
I sure hope they got Rarity's permission to use all those gems, Applejack thought. "And how are you expecting to carry that into school all by yourself, missy?" she asked, trying to work out if she could possibly carry the 'master piece' into town for her sister, and get back in time to finish all her chores.
"Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle are coming to help me." Applebloom explained, much to her sister's relief. At that moment, the doorbell rang, the remaining two of the Cutie Mark Crusaders bursting in. "Wow Applebloom, it looks even better than I remember!" Scootaloo exclaimed.
"Quiet, girls!" Applejack scolded, "Granny Smith's still asleep."
"Sorry!" The three chorused in hushed tones.
The three continued admiring their handy work, and Applebloom commented, still in a hushed tone, "Good call on those gems, Sweetie Belle! Maybe you'll get your cutie mark in art!" The pale filly blushed a little, before the three rolled up the piece, and balanced it across their backs, continuing their balancing act down the path to Sweet Apple Acres, and out of sight.
"Those girls..." Applejack laughed a little at their antics, shaking her head, before exiting the house herself to start the day, and finally feed those chickens.
