Hunting

It's early morning in Luciana's home as she awakens. She's used to getting up early, but today she feels especially groggy. She knows why, of course. Today

is the 74th annual Hunger Games, and today is her first time in the games. She took out as many rations as she could, while her elder sister Flavia took out

none. Luciana wouldn't allow it. Though she was the younger one of the family, she didn't want her sister to get picked out of all people.

She put her hair up into a ponytail, buttoning up her military uniform and lacing up her boots. She grabbed her throwing knives, sheathing them and leaving the

house. As she was leaving, she nearly tripped over her idiotic cat, Mittens. The cat was named by Flavia, and she despised the name. The cat was nice, though.

When it wasn't romping around the house like a lunatic, of course.

As she was about to walk out of the house, she heard her sister call for her. "Luciana, are you leaving?" She hears a groggy voice say as her sister walks into

the room. Flavia looks her over, raising an eyebrow. "Why do you insist upon wearing that outfit? It's so... bland. I gave you some stylish clothes, why not wear those?" She says, a small huff coming with it.

"I wear it so that the animals that I hunt don't see me." Luciana replies, rubbing her temples. Flavia rolls her eyes, and scoffs.

"Whatever." She sighs, and walks- no, struts- back to her room.

Luciana walks out of the house, and sees that no one is on the streets.

"Doesn't surprise me." She mutters. "They're probably all hiding in their houses." Sighing heavily, she makes a short trek to a field. Not far beyond that is a old,

rusty chain-link fence. It's nothing special, and has a crawl space underneath it. Barbed wire adorns the top, and a small area is dug out underneath it. It's

large enough for her to easily slip underneath it. Once she does so, she stands, wiping dirt off of the front of her uniform. Looking around, she walks into the

vast forest before her.

After a while of walking, she decides to do some hunting. She crouches down, moving stealthily through the undergrowth. Her breath is barely above a

whisper as she navigates the forest. She spots a deer. Alright... here goes nothing... she swiftly throws the blade, and it pierced the deer's skull. Smiling

triumphantly, she goes over to her catch. But out of the corner of her eye, she sees something. She spins around, pulling out two blades to defend herself. She

looks into the eyes of the person behind her, only to find her friend Lutz trying to scare her.

"Whoa zhere, Luci! No need to murder me!" He says, holding his hands up in defeat. Luciana sighs heavily, putting the blades away.

"You scared me half to death!" She says, lightly punching Lutz's shoulder. He merely rolls his eyes, and they walk into the forest.

"Scared or not, It's time ve do some hunting."
