No one could figure out why America was so happy, or why Germany was smirking. It was just a card. A home made one made of construction paper at that. It wasn't romantic, it wasn't witty, it didn't even have any candy with it, and it was from Prussia of all people.

Germany, who knew his brother better than anyone else, knew what it meant. He knew that those two little words and the picture of Gilbird drawn under it were as close as the albino would ever get to declaring that he was in love with someone. And he had to admit, falling for America was a bit predictable.

Canada, who knew his brother just as much as Germany knew Prussia, was happy for him. Even if America had immediately called him and refused to shut his mouth for a few hours. His brother was happy. Prussia was actually really nice when you got to know him, so he approved. Of course, he hadn't told America that. Not over the phone anyway. He could only pay so much for a phone bill.

Prussia himself would, after seeing America's reaction, immediately declare himself America's new boyfriend and proceed to repeat those two little words over and over and over. America would always respond with, "love you, too".

After a while, America would say Gitchee Gitchee Goo, but there's a whole other story about that.

Later, just days before his birthday, America would find that card again. The card reading two, small, insignificant words.

"You're awesome."

I had to do this. I don't know why I like this pairing so much. It is the pairing of awesome heroes, I guess. I expect this will get lost in a sea of Valentines day fics anyway, but on the off chance that someone does read it, review and let me know it's not worthless.
