Moments of Peace

Draco and Harry share a moment of peace by the Lake after the War. Drarry drabble.

Harry sat at the edge of the Lake, it was a chilly December day and the school was undergoing last minute remodelling of Hogwarts in the towers for the final students to arrive.

Now Voldemort was defeated Harry didn't know what to do with himself. He didn't want to be an Auror anymore, but he couldn't think of doing anything else.

He only came back to school for lack of anything to do. He sat on the edge of the Lake in thought, the cold had frozen most of the water, and he cast a Warming Charm to stop from freezing.

He don't know how long he sat there before he had a visitor.

He heard Draco before he saw him, he looked over as he sat down next to him, close enough to share the warmth of his Warming Charm, but neither said a thing.

Harry looked back out over the frozen water in silence, taking small comfort in the presence beside him.

He hadn't seen Draco since the Battle for Hogwarts.

Time passed, and Harry felt an arm extend and wrap around his shoulders. He leaned back into the blonde back, who tucked his chin under his head.

And still they said nothing.

The two sat there, Harry closed his eyes and Draco smiled but didn't move, and in silence they watched the frozen Lake.

Because the two didn't need words.

Harry's body language betrayed what he was feeling. I don't know what to do anymore. It said.

Then we'll make it through together. Draco's embrace told him.

Okay, I trust you. Harry answered with his sigh as he relaxed into Draco's arms.

They never said anything, but Draco smirked as Harry wordlessly handed back his wand.

He went back to staring at the scenery, and Draco kissed his forehead lightly before going back to watch the snow start to fall.

And still neither said a word.
